European companies lag behind when it comes to digital payment methods

Hamburg,18 september 2019 - In Europa blijven digitale betaalmethodes een kleine rol spelen, met slechts 28% van de bedrijven die hun klanten diigitale betaalopties geven (iets minder dan de 29% van 2018). Terwijl in West-Europa net geen derde (32%) hun klanten die optie geeft, is dat in Oost-Europa amper voor een kwart het geval (26%). Slechts 23% van de Europese bedrijven bieden online transfers aan via third-party providers, terwijl de mogelijkheid om mobiel te betalen 7% bedraagt en in de lift zit (5% in 2018). Cryptobetaalmiddelen blijven een nichefenomeen en worden zelden aanvaard als betaalmiddel. Gemiddeld hebben klanten toegang tot amper 4 betaalmogelijkheden. Het onderzoek uitgevoerd in opdracht van financieel dienstverlener EOS betrof 3400 bedrijven in 17 europese landen.

About the EOS Survey “European Payment Practices” 2019

In partnership with independent market research institute Kantar, EOS conducted phone interviews with 3,400 companies in 17 European countries to ask them about the prevailing payment practices in their respective locations.
